When it comes to recycling, winter can bring its own set of challenges but do not worry, we are here to help!
Here is a list of winter recycling tips to help you
- Make sure to rinse and dry your recyclables in order to prevent any ice build-up that may occur when placing them outside.
- Be sure to place your recycling bin and items out of the way of snowplow areas.
- The wind can drastically spin up on wintery days so it is important to make sure that the heaviest of items you are recycling stay towards the top as to help keep your items from blowing away.
- If you upgrade your snow removal items such as shovels, be sure to give your old ones to someone who could reuse them if they're in good shape.
- Donate any old winter apparel to your local salvation army, homeless shelter, or goodwill stores. Remember that old Christmas wreaths and trees can be donated and/or recycled; and that any old electronics can potentially be sold to someone else that may use them.
